Inspired by natural disasters and their aftermath, Beth uses crawled earthenware glazes to create intriguing and beautiful textures reminiscent of debris.

Addressing environmental  issues and focusing on the environmental change and events over the last decade such as the Boxing Day tsunami (Indian Ocean, 2004), Tohoku earthquake/tsunami (Japan, 2010) and global warming, the juxtaposition of natural disasters and the beauty found within them is a key component of her work.

This intriguing collection invites the viewer to embrace the beauty that can be found where it is least expected.  Beautiful as objects in their own right,  they become even more striking and powerful in their presentation as installations of collapsed objects, and highly evocative of the events that inspired their creation.
