 TRAKKE Bairn Mini Messenger bag

In October 2012 we had a Q&A with TRAKKE founder Alec Farmer, at the time they had just released their Harris Tweed messenger bags that looked great! Now TRAKKE have released their new super tough wax cotton Bairn Mini Messenger bag. The bag has been designed for daily use which includes jumping on buses, jumping on trains, hopping in and out of cars and of course cycling through wind, rain and sometimes sun.

The Bairn Mini messenger bag is the smallest in the TRAKKE range and has been designed for transporting the essentials for cycling commuters such as a jacket and toolkit. At TRAKKE the function of the bags is always a priority in the design process; maximizing the space Farmer designed two expanding zip pockets incorporated into the bag construction as well as  designing an internal ‘keep safe’ pocket for those valuables. The bag has an adjustible strap so that bag can be worn high while cycling or low around the hip while strolling around town. The 5 litre TRAKKE bags are great and could be used to transport other small items like a phone for calling people, an ipod for listenting to music and a Google nexus for online surfing in the street.

As with the larger TRAKKE bags like the Mule the Bairn Mini Messenger bags are built to last. The majority of materials sourced to make the bag come from within the UK. The tough water resistant waxed cotton surface wears in and not out while the material and seam tensions are constructed to to maximize longevity of a TRAKKE bag.
