Jessica Hogarth Illustrator and Surface Pattern Designer

I was ecstatic when I came across the award winning designer and illustrator Jessica Hogarth’s site, her brilliantly illustrated and coloured designs are  fun, friendly and funky! Hogarth’s  fantastic collection includes wallpapers, mobile phone cases, bags, clothes, cards and many more.

The Coastal Cottage wallpaper

The Coastal Cottage wallpaper by Jessica Hogarth is great! There are lovely details in this illustration with its many houses, windows and hints of colour dotted throughout.  Thick lines, thin lines, straight lines, wobbly lines all complement each other well to create a fun and relaxing wallpaper.  I can imagine people with their noses to the wall studying the design and searching out all of the interesting houses and shapes.

Doesn’t this wallpaper look fantastic in this setting? The contemporary styling of the stairs and use of materials works amazingly well with the detailed and colourful design by Hogarth.

The heavy use of orange and the many different colours and shapes of boats in this wallpaper creates a fun and inviting environment. The bright and bold wallpaper contrasts nicely with the use of white in the room which creates a fun but elegant feeling.

Hogarth’s attractive design style has been noticed by a number companies including  Lab C.  Hogarth designed a collection of phone covers with a variety of colours and designs.  I think the owl is my favorite – it would definitely make me smile every time I see my phone!

Hogarth was also approached by South Korea company HTML to produce designs for use on their bags.  The colour schemes and surface pattern designs look great on the bags.  The colours and patterns have a retro feel to them and look very unique.

As well as Lab C and HTML Jessica Hogarth has worked or collaborated with a number companies including  Zanerobe, P&B Textiles and Desigual.  If 2012 was good, 2013 is going to be better, Hogarth will be kick starting  the beginning of the year when she exhibits at Home 2013 in London’s Earls Court between the 13-15th January – that’s 3 days away people!

A Curious Fox

Some of the products that will be on display at Hogarth’s stand (stand C43) are these lovely illustrated cards. Illustrated in Hogart’s style the cards focus on the detail of the animals offset by a simple geometric backgrounds.  If your feeling compelled to own some of Hogarth designs you can find her work for sale online here.
